A man was attacked as he walked through a town centre with his partner.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault in Norman Road in St Leonards on Sunday November 4.

The 26-year-old victim from Hastings was walking past the Londis Store with his partner towards Hastings town centre when the assault took place at 12.20am.

The man received two black eyes, a split lip, swollen nose and scratches to his shoulder and was taken to hospital.

The couple were approached by three men who spoke to victim before the man was punched.

PCSO Lucy Paffett said: "Were you around in the small hours of Sunday morning, perhaps you were in taxi passing by and saw this incident take place?"

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0063 of 4/11. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
