Flags lowered at the garden of remembrance at Brighton war memorial
Crowds gathered at the Brighton war memorial yesterday (November 8) for a remembrance blessing.
Ex-servicemen and women from the British armed forces were joined by Brighton and Hove Mayor Bill Randall at the memorial’s garden of remembrance.
The Archdeacon of Chichester, the Royal British Legion and members of the public were also in attendance for the service that started at 10.50am.
A two-minute silence at 11am followed the reading of prayers, a citation of Ode for the Fallen and a citation of Kohima Epitaph by a Burma Star representative.
Wreaths were laid over a wooden cross both at the garden and at the Second World War memorial.
