Heads will bow and silence will be observed for Remembrance Sunday this weekend.
Sussex will unite to remember the fallen heroes of the British armed forces. Siobhan Ryan brings you a list of the memorial events taking place across the county.
Brighton and Hove
A maroon will sound on Brighton seafront at 11am and again at 11.02am to mark the traditional two minutes silence.
10.45am Brighton Parade and Service, War Memorial, Old Steine
A parade will depart from Madeira Drive to the Old Steine War Memorial.
A two minute silence will take place at the War Memorial in the Old Steine at 11am, followed by a short ceremony, laying of wreaths and march past.
People are asked to arrive at the Old Steine no later than 10.45am.
10.50am at Easthill Park Memorial, Portslade
A parade will depart from Portslade Town Hall at 10.20am and proceed to Easthill Park for a ceremony and laying of wreaths at 11am.
10.55am at Hove Cemetery, Old Shoreham Road
A short wreath-laying ceremony will take place first at South Gate Memorial at 11am, followed by the same ceremony at the North Gate Memorial. Please note there will be no service.
2.30pm – War Memorial, Grand Avenue, Hove
A parade will leave Hove Town Hall at 2.15pm and proceed to the War Memorial in Grand Avenue, Hove for a wreath-laying ceremony at 2.30pm.
The parade will then move on to All Saints Church for a full Service of Remembrance at 3pm. People choosing not to take part in the parade are welcome to go directly to the church service.
4.25pm – Brighton & Hove Branch of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women’s Service.
Alfriston
Muster in the village square at 10.30. March to St Andrews Church for service and wreath laying.
Arundel
A service will be held at Arundel war memorial from 10.45am
Billingshurst
10.30 Parade will muster at Jengers Mead for a march to the war memorial followed by a service at St Marys Church. Parade to the village hall will leave Gratwicke Close at 12.10.
Burgess Hill
Parade will start from Cyprus Hall at 10.25am to the war memorial where wreaths will be laid and the two minute silence observed, followed by a service of remembrance at St John's Church.
Chiddingly
Parade meets at 10.30am at the Six Bells Inn on the main road including standard bearer and musicians, followed by a church service.
Chichester
Civic procession leaves Council House, North Street, at 10.40am, arriving at the Litten Gardens war memorial for a service at 11am. Platoons will march through East Street prior to the Litten Gardens service.
Clayton and Keymer
Service at the Lynch Gate of St John the Baptist Church, Clayton, at 10.45am, followed by wreath laying at the Royal British Legion branch headquarters in Woodsland Road.
At 2pm the parade will march to the United Reformed Church, Keymer Road, for a service, followed by wreath laying and prayers at the Keymer memorial.
Crowborough
10:30am act of remembrance and service at St Michael and All Angels Church- Jarvis Brook.
Ditchling
Parade leaving at approximately 10.45 am from the Scout Hut in East End Lane to the War Memorial where the act of remembrance will take place.
Eastbourne
Remembrance parade to the war memorial from 10.40am. A remembrance service takes place at the Ruthless Memorial at Butts Brow near Beachy Head from 3pm, paying tribute to the crew of an American B24 Liberator bomber who crashed into the hillside in 1944.
East Dean
Two minutes silence will be observed at the war memorial on the village green at 11am followed by wreath laying and a remembrance service in East Dean Parish Church.
East Preston
Parade will march to St Mary's Church for the service at 11am, then to East Preston war memorial for a short service and the laying of wreaths. There will also be a service and laying of wreaths at the Kingston war memorial at 12.30pm.
East Wittering
Royal British Legion members will pay homage to the fallen at the East Wittering Dedication Stone at 11am.
Hailsham
Parade and service of remembrance at Hailsham war memorial. The parade will start at 10.30am from the car park next to the Age Concern hall. Service to follow at 11am.
Hastings
Muster at Morrisons Loading Bay at 10.15am. Civic parade will march to the war memorial at Alexander Park.
South Harting
Remembrance parade and service at St Mary and St Gabriel Parish Church, South Harting, near Chichester, at 10.30am, followed by wreath laying at the village war memorial.
Haywards Heath
Small remembrance service at Muster Green at 10.45am followed by two minutes silence and the laying of wreaths.
Heathfield
Remembrance service at Old Heathfield Church at 10.45am, followed by wreath laying at the war memorial. A wreath will also be laid at the Waldron war memorial.
Horam
meeting at station road 10.30am then parade up main road to Horam Church where wreath will be laid.
Horsham
10.25am, Parade from the Telephone Exchange in Horsham to the memorial, followed by a services at the memorial and St Mary's Church in the Causeway.
Lindfield
A gathering will be held at 11am at the war memorial to mark the two minute silence. Parade at 2.45pm prior to the 3pm service inside All Saints Church
Little Common
Parade will be leaving Little Common Royal British Legion Club in Meads Avenue at 10.40am to march to St Mark's Church for the service. The parade will make its way to the war memorial at 11.55am where a short service will be held followed by wreath laying.
Lowfield Heath
Remembrance service to be held at St Michael's and All Angels Church. Muster outside the church at 10.45am.
Midhurst
Remembrance service at the war memorial in Church Hill at 10.45am.
Newhaven
Service at St Michael's Church followed by a parade to the war memorial gardens in South Way where there will be a wreath laying ceremony and silence at 11am.
Peacehaven
Memorial service at the garden of remembrance, The Church of Ascension, Bramber Avenue, at 11am.
Pevensey
Service at St Nicolas Church at 10.30am Plumpton and East Chiltington – Parade and Service at All Saints Church Plumpton Green at 10.50am.
Polegate
10.30am Remembrance service at St John’s Church Polegate. Remembrance service at United Reformed Church at 4.30pm.
Ringmer
Parade will march off from behind the Springett Avenue shops at 10.45 am, to hold a short service at the war memorial, before moving on to the church.
Rye
Parade will commence from Adams in the High Street at 10.40am followed by service at St Mary's Church at 10.55am.
Shoreham-by-sea
Assemble at the Community Centre, Pond Road at 9.30am. March to the Church of St. Mary de Haura. 10am service followed by wreath laying at 11am.
Steyning and District
Remembrance service at St Andrews and St Cuthmans Church from 10.40am.
Uckfield
11am, firing of maroons in Church of the Holy Cross Churchyard followed by short service and wreath laying at the war memorial. Parade from Luxford Field Car Park at 2.15pm to Church of the Holy Cross for 3pm remembrance service.
Warnham
Parade from Warnham Village Hall at 10.15am to village church for a service and laying of wreaths at the war memorial.
Worthing
The annual service and march past will take place at the war memorial in Chapel Road. The two minutes silence at 11am will be followed by a service and wreath laying ceremony.
