Post-mortems are being carried out on two people found dead in a house in Sussex.

The man and woman – who were a couple – were found dead in Whyke Marsh, Chichester, on Thursday lunchtime.

It is believed the woman was in her 20s and the man in his 40s. Their deaths are being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

Witnesses reported seeing lots of police outside.

One woman said: “There were police and ambulances arriving on Thursday and a police van here all day next day.”

She said there were three police cars, a scientific unit from Sussex Police and two ambulances.

Chichester Police said: “Police can confirm that just before midday on Thursday officers were called to a house in Chichester and the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered.

“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with them. “Police are working with the coroner's officer to establish the full circumstances and a post-mortem will be held in due course to establish the cause of death.”

Did you know the couple and would you like to pay tribute to them?
