Peacehaven family's thanks for Remembrance Day support

The family of a fallen hero said they have found hope in the support of the nation on Remembrance Day.

Peacehaven paratrooper Daniel Prior was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan just four weeks after the birth of his son Logan.

Pte Prior’s father Ian, mother Gill, wife Emily and son Logan attended a Remembrance service with the Parachute Regiment yesterday.

Mr Prior said: “It does help to know that people are showing you that support and respect. It feels good to have that support.

“But it can be hard. It is a day that brings up lots of memories and it can be a real conflict inside you.

“You don't ever get over this kind of grief, you just learn to live with it.

“Logan is 20 months now and running around and starting to talk. His vocabulary is really coming along and looks like Daniel did when he was that age.

“He is a real comfort to us, but we feel so guilty because we are enjoying watching Logan grow up which his dad could never do.

“But we know we have to enjoy Logan for Dan.”
