The 82-year-old woman in a crash with a BMW last night (November 15) is in hospital with serious injuries.

The pedestrian collided with the car at 5.50pm on the A259 South Coast Road in Peacehaven.

She is being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A 39-year-old local man who was driving the white car was also taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and has since been discharged.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either the woman or the BMW car before the accident should call 101 quoting Op Form.

The A259 was closed for several hours whilst forensic examinations of the scene were carried out.

Officers have thanked drivers for their patience.
