Sussex hit-and-run driver was an illegal immigrant

Hit-and-run victim Kalan Fletcher
A driver who ran down and killed a 23-year-old had been flashed by a fellow motorist that his victim was in the road.
Mark Hill passed Kalan Fletcher walking on the opposite carriageway moments before he was struck on the A23 London Road at Hassocks.
He told an inquest at Horsham that when he saw another driver heading in the other direction at about 4.30am on October 22 last year he flashed his lights at him to try to alert him to the figure in the road .
But Mr Fletcher, on his way back from a 21st birthday, was knocked down and killed.
The driver who struck him drove off and has never been caught. Police have named him as Imran Shaukat, then 27, an illegal immigrant who was living in Worthing at the time.
Agne Tamosauskaithe, from Burgess Hill, who was with Mr Fletcher on the night he died, described how she had gone into nearby bushes to relieve herself.
When she returned from the bushes her friend was lying dead in the road.
Emergency call
His body had been found by Jeffrey Sime, from Hassocks, who was on his way to work. Mr Sime called 999 but Mr Fletcher, from Keymer, was already dead.
Because Shaukat could not be traced to give evidence and it is unclear exactly what happened in the collision, West Sussex Coroner Penelope Schofield recorded a narrative verdict that Mr Fletcher died after being struck by a van.
Stella Hawker, Mr Fletcher’s mother, said: “I nearly broke down at one point in the inquest. We need Shaukat to come forward. There is no indication of where he is.
“Kalan was responsible. He got a taxi home and did not drink and drive.”
The police investigation and the bid to trace Shaukat is ongoing.

The driver was an illegal entrant into the UK.
He has left the UK to escape charges.
Those are the facts of the inquest.
Last week there was a story in The argus about a hit and run driver who was a UK citizen.
Silly person above. Do keep up.

Australia and NZ is surrounded by a huge ocean so it hardly likely that illegal entrants could enter the country. I know that because I lived in Australia for 18 years!
Also Australia has grown it's population by 5 million in 20 years almost entirely by immigration.
You are correct that most have to understand English, and have enough money and a job guarantee - the same as UK.
Australia also has similar student and agricultural worker visa systems, the agricultural sector would collapse without it - same as in UK. In Australia there are half as many unemployed, unlike UK where there are significant numbers of healthy young men who seem to feel it is beneath them to do agricultural work!
UK has considerable movement of vehicles and this is usually how ILLEGAL entrants get in.
The problem with racists like you is you get it wrong all the time because you don't think before you spout your unsupported rubbish.
What do you think the population of UK is? Someone last week was emphatic that it is more than 90 million!!(look down page for answer!)
If you were to bother to look at the actual statistics, like me, you would see that illegal entry is actually very low and most of them are deported fairly swiftly.
Most of the LEGAL immigration is from middle class professionals coming to a job.
At the last census the population was 63 million and population growth is only 1.47%.
You could just carry on believing the rubbish in papers like the Express, or you could stop believing in opinion and actually get the facts right.
