Queues are backing up on the A27 after two separate collisions involving three cars.

The crashes happened at about 3.30pm today (November 21) on the A27 westbound between and the A23 London Road (Patcham) and A2038 King George VI Avenue / Mill Road / Dyke Road Avenue / Devil's Dyke Road.

The emergency services are at the scene and drivers are reporting delays on approach.

It is believed there are no serious injuries or people trapped in vehicles.

The ambulance service confirmed it was on the scene with two ambulances and that two people had been treated and not required hospital treatment but others were still receiving aid.

Sussex Police said two lanes were currently shut westbound as the vehicles were recovered but were due to be open soon.
