Worthing council launch investigation after truck flips over
9:40pm Wednesday 21st November 2012 in News
An investigation has been launched after a man was injured when a dumper truck moving boulders turned over.
The man, a contractor for Worthing Borough Council, was hurt at 6.50am on Monday as he carried out maintenance on the seafront groynes between Ham Road and Lancing.
Paramedics took the man in his 40s to Worthing Hospital for treatment.
A spokeswoman for the council said: “The dumper truck developed a mechanical fault which caused it to flip over.
“Luckily the driver only suffered a broken collar bone. An internal investigation has been started.”
