Man, 37, fighting for life after being struck by car in Brighton
7:58am Thursday 22nd November 2012 in News By Anna Roberts, Crime reporter
A 37-year-old is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in Brighton.
Police and emergency services were called to Ditchling Road between the junction of Coldean Lane and Woodborn Avenue at around 5.55pm on Wednesday after he was hit by a Renault Clio.
He was taken to brain injury hospital Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath with very serious injuries.
The 29-year-old driver of the Clio, a Brighton woman, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with minor injuries.
Sergeant Mark Baker from the Roads Policing Unit said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward.
"I would also like to thank local road users for their patience and understanding as the Ditchling Road was closed for several hours whilst forensic examinations of the scene were carried out.”
Please call 101 quoting Operation Cake.
