Abortion protest at Brighton and Hove Green HQ

Anti-abortion campaigners picketed the Green Party’s office in central Brighton yesterday (November 29).

About a dozen people, carrying posters with graphic images, demonstrated in Surrey Street for about two hours in the morning.

It is understood the protest was organised by campaign group Abort67.

A BBC Panorama television crew was with them.

Rob Shepherd, chairman of the city’s Green Party, said: “I have no idea why they were outside the Green Party office.

“I don’t know that there is any difference between our policy on abortion or Labour’s or other parties.”

Sussex Police confirmed they attended a demonstration but said there was no trouble and no arrests.

There are two qualifications that anybody needs to have an opinion that is worth listening to when it comes to abortion:
a) do you have a uterus?
b) Is the baby yours?

If the answer to either of these questions is 'no' then your opinion is worthless.

In Ireland there is now a 10 month waiting list to have an abortion.

If only the freaks from Abort67 could get these two VERY important facts into their thick skulls!

Unless of course you are somebody who has to carry out the abortion and deal with all the waste matter. Abortions don't happen by magic. Then there is the father of the baby who might have a different view.

Is that the same time for contraception (in Ireland)?

I didn't even know the Greens offered this service - well done them.
.
And, incidentally, the "is the baby yours?" could be thought to apply to the male in the equation...

An our Heavenly Father The Lord god almighty of course eh? Does he come into your reasons for not wanting abortions?

Why were they picketing the Green Party's office? Were the protests organized by Abort67 or not? What was doing Panorama there? And, most importantly, why the hell you still don't have any answers although this all happened YESTERDAY?

I wish people would actually tell me why I should hate our Green Council. I can understand a few car drivers being irate but hopefully that will be balanced out by local cyclists and pedestrians.

I just can't understand the vitriol I see here. They're just as competent as every other bunch we've had in control here. Would somebody please tell me without using rhetoric of why I should sign a petition to remove a democratically elected party?
