A resident reversed his car into his own house.
Worthing firefighters were called to a maisonette in Livesay Crescent, Worthing to find a car had ploughed into the front room of the property at 7pm last night.
Firefighters stayed at the scene for about an hour while a building inspector checked through the property.
The male resident who lived alone in the property was sent to hospital as a precaution.
One firefighter at the scene said: “It’s an automatic car so he looks like he might have put the car into the wrong gear or put his foot on the accelerator when he meant to put it on the brake.
“There was a lot of damage to the car and the house.
“The building inspector said the man could return to his house but couldn’t go upstairs or into his front spare room.”
