Sussex MPs unhappy at Dalai Lama warning
8:52am Wednesday 5th December 2012 in News
Two Sussex MPs have claimed they were pressurised by Number 10 and the Foreign Office not to meet the Dalai Lama.
East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton claimed on a Channel 4 documentary shown on Monday, December 3 that he and Lewes MP Norman Baker were warned not to meet the Tibetan leader this summer during his tour of the UK.
The two MPs then wrote a letter of complaint to David Cameron after deciding against attending a dinner organised by the Tibet Society and warned the Prime Minister against being too heavily influenced by China over their approach to Tibet.

Loughton's extremist xtian views would clearly judge His Holiness to be nothing more than a colonial heathen anyway, why is he whinging, was he hoping to convert him to xtianity?

I'm not hearing any disappointment from the Dalai Lama's side that he was gutted about not having The Lought's face put him off his lunch. I never said a mentioned any "decent Christians", Lought's views are on the ugly side of extreme Xtianity that involve far too much hate towards minorities and people that don't share his views of what "God" is all about.

I'd have thought more of them had they attended the dinner anyway and then wrote to Cameron.
The Dalai Lamas' tragedy is that industry doesn't run on Yak milk. The reality is that politically humanitarian ideals only work when there is muck that can be turned into brass.
