My brother was on that bus last night. The bus driver wouldn't open the doors trapping everyone on the bus inside. I'd like to know what was going through his thick head.

A fight broke out upstairs and as soon as the "man" pulled out a knife everyone ran downstairs and formed two groups, one at the front and one at the back of the bus.

Eventually, the man came downstairs with blood dripping from his face and knife. He looked at both groups and approached my brother (who was pushed back by the crowds) and said to him "you've ruined my life", he then grabbed him by the shoulder blade and was about to run him through when some brave soul got him in a headlock. My brother and his friend then managed to wrestle the knife out of his hands.

Not once were 13 and 14 year old boys mentioned. They're probably scared to death and I think I would've ran for my life after seeing that much blood at that age too.
I was on the top floor of the bus when it happened, it was horrible, truly, I've never been so scared in my life. I think there was a fight downstairs earlier involving those kids and that guy, they came on the bus bragging about hitting someone or something, there was quite a lot of tension; the last person to get on the bus was the guy with the knife; he just walked straight to the back of the top floor and attacked the kids; we heard someone scream 'he's got a knife!', and at that point one or two people ran back to try and suppress the guy, the rest of us were in shock and panic, but I think the guy had already done the damage; everyone moved towards the stairs creating a pileup of people at the exit (I think the injured kids must have got off before this point and ran; they were just mischievous kids, they deserved nothing of what they got, I don't think they had a weapon). Then the guy, with blood all over him and on his knife walked slowly down towards the stairs, I'll never forget that image and all the panic around me, past all the people stuck in their seats (I was one of them) and past the crowd piled at the front of the bus; as for what happened downstairs I had no idea, credits to whoever stopped the guy and I'm sorry for your brother it was a horrible experience for me and I can't imagine what he must have felt at the time. Next thing I saw (from the second floor bus window) was the guy on the floor his face was little more than a mesh of brown and red, blood was pouring from his nose, he must have struggled until he couldn't fight anymore, I thought he was dead until the police arrived. I assume his wrist injury was delt during the disarmament, the kids were victims, they should not be done for gbh as far as I know, there was only one man guilty of gbh and that was the 24 year old, the CCTV should clear a lot up though. Whoever stopped this guy from causing more harm has all my gratitude and respect, the people on the bus were also very considerate of the shock that others experienced even though they were likely going through the same thing, it was horrible and I can only hope that those kids are alright. They were likely running away out of fear. Some of you people commenting about burning people and all this 'underclass' **** disgust me, this man was clearly mentally unstable and psychopathic, this wasn't gang violence based around drugs and money, it was a crazed reaction of fury, you could see that in his eyes. We are going to talk to the police pretty soon, but the cameras saw more than I did, use them."

Two teenage boys and an older man have been arrested after three people were stabbed during a late night brawl on a bus.

Two boys aged 13 and 14, along with a 24-year-old local man, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, following the incident on a night bus full of students in the early hours of this morning.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at the bottom of Church Street, outside the gate entrance to Pavilion Gardens at around 5.44am.

A 24-year-old man found lying on the pavement next to the bus with a stab wound to his wrist, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.

Two teenage boys found running away from the scene were also arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The 14-year-old remains in hospital for treatment to stab wounds to one of his legs.

Police have been searching in the Sevendials area of Brighton with a helicopter for another 14-year-old boy who also has a stab wound to his leg.

The area at the bottom of Church Street was cordoned off for several hours whilst forensic examinations were carried out.

Detective Inspector Lee Horner from Brighton and Hove CID said: "This was a shocking incident on a bus full of students on their way back to Brighton University after a night out in the city.

"Several arrests have been made and we are currently trying to establish the exact circumstances that led up to the fight on the bus. I would appeal to anyone who knows where the outstanding 14-year-old boy is to please get in touch as a matter of urgency as he needs medical treatment for his injuries.
