Praise for tackling late-night noise (From The Argus)

No talk about when they get it wrong and unduly harass!

I have yet to see any improvement down here in Preston St. The noise across the road is unbelievable and the council does nothing about it. They just treat you like you have a mental illness if you complain about 24hr licensing, just shut your face and fill out a noise diary. In fact council hands out these licenses, collects the money and don't give a **** about the consequences. My experience of the Green party is they are absolutely useless/inept and totally ineffectual when it comes to reviewing these horrible 24hr licenses. Our lives are sheer hell. In fact I have seen little or no evidence at all of any tackling of noise pollution by the council infact we have evidence to the contrary, would love to know what planet your living on, this article is a joke right? We have been complaining for over 3 months and the only thing we can see is quite the opposite, the only council support we have seen from them is to totally ignore all of our complaints. If your a gay bar you get closed down but if your hetero bar with a hen party with underage drinkers you can scream till 5 in the morning. Noise patrol closes at 3, they pass by at 11pm and tell you we didn't see a thing, if you are very lucky to have noise patrol come around they enter your bedroom at 3am hear how horrible the noise is, watch a fight with the bouncers and then they still ignore the evidence. You take hundreds of photos and then they ignore those as well, because you can't prove they came out of these premises(the council even advices the premise/bouncers how to get around it by moving the punters 15ft away, then the noise is not their responsibility,I have written evidence of the council doing this!). Until you have experienced the true horror/trauma/distre
ss of having to fill in a noise diary you have absolutely no idea what we are going through.What a load of absolute rubbish this article is.We all have truly given up on this council in total despair, why don't you contact me and I can give you a 2 week noise diary for you to print(complete with pictures,that can't be used as evidence) and then give you the councils response. It makes you sick with despair.

Scoobysnax see my question to Simon Kirby MP on another story on this site about what central govt is going to do about noise and anti social behaviour and the out dated and unnecessary evidence gathering over a six month period when most of us have cameras and video facilities to capture evidence which Should be admissible in court as with other crimes.
And yes the Greens have been utterly useless in dealing with student lets in my community which apparently only happens on a Friday and Saturday.
Working people are ignored by this council which is handing the city over to the workless.

The only Green thing about this council is they use Noise Diaries as toilet paper, and not only do they ignore working people or the workless they ignore everyone.

As a regular Brighton Centre visitor I see little to nothing, that would even suggest it being a Green city. The pollution is horrendous. As for anti-social behavior, I have witnessed the plight of "scoobysnax". Months ago I saw stuff so bad,that now, I only visit Preston st during the daytime! My girlfriend was appalled. Sorry to hear that things are still so bad. The "Award" is a bit like the one the EU received for Peace - absurd! Come on Greens get it together or be binned as a good idea, that drowned in hypocrisy.
