Heavy rain washes out Sussex roads

An amber warning has been issued by the Met Office as high winds follow today's heavy rain.

Gale-force winds gusting between 60-65mph are expected until 9pm tonight.

Rain has caused flooding on the A24 in Findon and Ham Road, Shoreham-by-sea.

It would not so bad if the road fund licence or road tax was used for its intended purpose.

There are drains on Queens Park Estate that have never ever been cleaned out in years,they are full to the top with dirt and rubbish and the water just cascades down the slopes until it finally finds an escape so if the council wants to sort it out start in Clayton road

I have no problem calling it VED instead of road tax. however blocked drains are a hazard to road uses and people walking by the puddle and in these cold times they are a greater problem if they freeze
