Have your say on future of Brighton and Hove seafront

Brighton and Hove seafront consultation is open until March 8
Council chiefs are calling for bright ideas to spruce up one of the “prime attractions” in Sussex.
Brighton and Hove City Council has signed off on running a consultation on the stretch of the seafront from Hove Lagoon to Saltdean in October.
The local authority received dozens of comments after the issue was covered in The Argus.
Now it has launched its official consultation for people to submit ideas to improve the iconic stretch while attracting more investment to the city.
Geoffrey Bowden, the chairman of the council’s economic development and culture committee, said: “Everyone has an interest in the seafront, wherever they live in the city, and we hope as many people as possible will get involved in the consultation and have their say.
“The seafront is the best known and loved feature of the city and attracts millions of visitors from this country and across the world each year.
“However we can’t be complacent, we have to look to the future and ensure the seafront continues to thrive and the draft strategy identifies potential opportunities for improvements.
“We want to broaden and enhance its appeal for visitors and residents – widening the main tourist area beyond the two piers and providing more year-round appeal.”
Have your say
The local authority believes the seafront contributes about £732 million to the local economy each year.
The consultation runs until March 8.
A series of events will also be held in the new year at various seafront locations to give people further opportunities to comment.
Feedback will be used to develop the final version of the seafront strategy, which will then go before the council’s policy and resources committee for final approval.
People can give their views online at consult.brighton-hove.gov.uk/portal.

Sorry but is this from the same bunch of clowns who have turned Madeira Drive into a ghost town and want to power the Volks with solar panelled palm trees?
Simply can't be taken seriously. More Green Party larking about.
I have voted for them on the epetition: a vote of no confidence
Green Party idealisms prevent the running of an efficient administration. I live in Hanover and suspect they'll suggest littering the sea front with unsightly communal bins

1) Remove the Greens from the council.
2) Reduce the parking charges so they are on a par with Eastbourne, Worthing and Bournemouth so the council doesn't alienate all tourists and visitors to the city and they can afford to come here. This will encourage private businesses to open shops, restaurants, attractions. etc and help the rest not go to the wall.

I don't know who designed the Terraces or which council granted them planning permission but they could work emptying the dog bins.

Madeira drive should be turned into a pedestrian zone with cafes, restaurants. I don't know who designed the Terraces or which council granted them planning permission but they could work emptying the dog bins.

Instead of spending £50,000 on a plinth they should replace all the broken bulbs, put some planters on the seafront, replace the paving with new matching paving, get rid of all the clutter and take out the ridiculous amount of traffic lights.
Shelve the idea of powering the Volks railway with solar panels because if we continue to have future summers like the last one no one will be able to use it.
The best idea is to remove the Greens from the council!!!

1) Lower Council Tax and all Taxes
2) Get Rid of Bike Lanes off the roads put them on pavements let them share with pedestrians not vihicles.
3) Get Rid of Bus Lanes - who has a vehicle pays road tax so we all equally own the roads no one has priority.
4) Make parking a lot cheapier like £1 for 24 hours and have more parking.
follow these steps and you will bring in more people to the city meaning more money.
think about it council you might be geting less tax per person then used to but there be more people wanting to live here if things cheaper then you will earn just as much of not more thought mass population. but no you wont do that you just want to increase money and still want more!!
and yes do what everyone is saying REMOVE THE AWFUL GREENS OUT OF THIS CITY THERE MAKING IT WORSE!!!!

ration/carbon emmissions.
Too many bus and cycle lanes causing gridlock/chaos/frust
ration etc
Too many Communal bins/street drinkers/druggies.
Parking charges astronomical.
New street lights not lighting up our streets at night.
KA should be transformed into a state of the art LEISURE centre.Maybe a cinema complex as well.Bowling alley/swimming/etc Definately Not flats.

Agree the traffic lights all work against each other and there is nothing Green about it!
