11:00am Monday 31st December 2012 in News
A gunman tied up travel agent staff before stealing cash and travellers cheques.
He broke into Thomas Cook in New Church Road, Hove, and stole money at 4.50pm on Friday.
He was wearing a balaclava with a hood pulled up and waving what was believed to be a handgun at staff.
He assaulted a woman member of staff and then tied the other staff up before stealing a substantial amount of cash of currencies, travel cards and travellers cheques.
No one was injured in the incident. The man is described as about 5ft 8ins, wearing a black Puffa-style jacket with a grey hooded top underneath.
DS Mark Rosser said: “This was clearly a very distressing incident for those who found themselves confronted by this man.
“We are offering them support and are making every effort to identify, locate and arrest him.”
Witnesses should call Sussex Police on 101.
