Your chance to quiz Environment Agency flood expert Your chance to quiz Environment Agency flood expert

Flooding has caused misery across the county this year.

Houses have been abandoned, livelihoods ruined and crops washed away.

But what can we do?

The Environment Agency is tasked with protecting the public from the country’s unpredictable weather.

And this is your chance to quiz one of their experts.

Do you think funds have been unfairly distributed? Do we need to rethink housing policy? Have we been let down by those in power?

Whatever your question, let us know and we’ll put them to Agency flood expert David Robinson.

The Environment Agency: Just another quango organisation that British taxpayers can ill-afford. Scrap it now.

I have a question:

With all this blooming rain we've been having, will we still have a hosepipe ban when the sun shines for a few days in the summer?

Hello David. Would you like to come on a date with me? We could go to the cinema, and maybe later hold hands and exchange double entendres about hosepipes.

David, how come Bewl Water reservoir is only 93% full at present? I would also like to see reservoir levels published on TV weather bullitins/web sites and newspapers so that the public are more aware of levels at all times of the year like they do for pollin levels.

What a stupid, ignorant and unintelligent comment

Hello David, What is your assessmemt of the risks of tidal flooding in Sussex? Diggers shoring up shingle beaches seem to be an almost permanent feature in some places. With rising sea levels that looks like a losing battle. What is the Environment Agency's long-term strategy? Are government cut-backs increasing the risk?

Is this statistic correct, if so it would go along with the statistic that the 'Lower Aquifers' are still not full, from Southern Water.

So do we need to have 'Rain' 365 days of the year to keep the supply going.

I seriously suspect this is so. Build 'Resevoirs'!

My questtion? How come environment problems only started becoming problems when Caroline, Jason et al came on the scene? Don't bother replying, that lot aren't worth it.

Start building more reservoirs and save all the rain that most companies just want to divert to avoid flooding. Diverting the water is just going to make somewhere else flood. We are given all this extra rain for a reason so the water companies had better start saving it, or is the plan to keep the water in short supply in order the increase the cost???

Having worked at the Environment Agency's site in Llandarcy (near Swansea) for a couple of years, I can assure you that the EA holds no love for the Green Party!

At Cuckmere Haven you are allowing nature to take its course, is this going to be the policy in other areas as well?

Why can't you get the floodwater by lancing college on the a27 to obey the laws of physics and flow downhill into the river adur? Do you actually talk to the other overpriced and equally useless quango that's supposed to be responsible for the roads?
