The article doesn't say whether it was a white person, Asian or African person being attacked.

No doubt the word "racist" wouldn't have been used if a white person had been attacked by an Asian or Black gang, just "mugged"!

This is a very interesting report from the media, given that this was a "Racist Attack" at no point are we told what the nationality or colour of the victim and the attackers are for it to be racist, we can only assume (which we don't like to do) that the victim is white and English, otherwise the media would certainly be giving us the full details. Don' forget this is the town where left wing extremists attacked an English parade made up of women and children.

It says one of the thugs is from Burgess Hill, so his mates are probably from round there too. People are generally tolerant in Brighton, its all the out-of-towners that seem to cause trouble down here.

I'm more concerned that there has been quite a few (reported) recent attacks by gangs in the same area whether you're gay, straight or an ethnic minority. Surely CCTV should catch these thugs?

I think the right wing lot had as much right to march as any of the other loons who protest in this city.

I personally would rather they were not marching along with unwashed green lefties.

I took great exception to Caroline Lucas opposing the right to march for this lot and not for any of the other loons.

I am not in support of the English Democrats or whatever they call themselves. I detest them - but I also detest most of the other "protest of the week" nutters.

Not good and I hope they guys eye is saved !! Lewes road is not a safe area at night and have never felt safe walking home so always get a taxi.

As for the EDL march, what on earth were they doing bringing children into a volatile situation...........

unfortunately white people cant be racist victims its ignored by police if we are victims.Having said that racism should not be tolerated towards any race.

Maybe the two men 'attacked' started a fight on a single guy who called his friends up to help out?

I reported to police about the gang of asian men who gather on the seafront when clubs are getting out i confronted them as they would not let women passed long story but luckily police were near but they ignored my concerns even after i reported the incident online.Brighton is very unsafe for any race in the early hours and dont expect the police to be there in your time of need quite simply visible police have disappeared excpt on west street even there its mainly police in vehicles unable to hear whats going on on street level.

That is right. I agree on those points.

It's yet another attack in Brighton. It's about time the town got cleaned up with a bit of zero tolerance from the Police.
I hope that the new police commissioner guides the police (who have to do a difficult job) to the fact that the streets need to be safer at night. It can be done they did it in New York so it must be possible.

Don't come to our town shouting abuse at people then. I watched your march a couple of years ago and it was mostly a group of fat, knuckle-dragging football hooligans with bald heads and EDL tattoos with a few ugly, fat women and some poor indoctrinated young kids you dragged along on your p*ss up. Seem to remember you were shouting 'we pay your benefits' and various homophobic and racist chants to anyone who was nearby. I doubt you pay anyone's benefits as your contribution to society is purely through the purchase of strong lager and England shirts, all paid for by the DSS. Frankly, you should be investigated by social services for taking children on that march because it was not an appropriate place for children to be and you put them at risk by winding up large numbers of people on route. Also, why start the day in the pub if it's a 'nice family day out'? Disgusting. Leave the kids behind next time - must be terrifying for them being in a hostile environment like that.

Pegging your pardon but some immigrants living in Brighton are not that friendly ever fact some are very argent towards people who try to be helpful so it works both ways.

It comes as no surprised to me the man arrested had drugs on him as the Lewes Rd & most of the pubs are junky heaven to junky’s and as for the so called demo’s held in Brighton these days are towards the gay, trans community by horologic morons who dote have a brain cell duo to the consumption of alcohol and drugs its hardly surprising you’re a bunch of sad lonely fat old slobs with no life that you have to attack those who do have a life.

Brighton and Hove used to be such a tolerant place.
Now it has become the toilet of the UK.
A magnet for alcoholics,druggies and other lowlife scum.
Police turn a blind eye or just can't be bothered.
It's a dangerous place these days.
