A MAN has been arrested after railway cable was found at a small industrial estate in Framfield in Uckfield.
The discovery was made on Monday, December 17, when officers visited the site following reports of rubber being burnt.
The man from Hailsham was arrested.
He has subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.
Inspector Tony Wakefield, from the neighbourhood policing team, said: “Theft of metal is a problem that affects everyone.
“Most often this causes inconvenience to the general population but in some cases it can put people at real |risk and create major disruption.
“This case is a good result where members of the community have reported suspicious activity which |has been followed up by |the appropriate authorities.
“Please help and keep giving us the information we need to stop these crimes."
