Rail improvement works at Hastings tunnel this weekend

Work is taking place to the Hastings tunnel this weekend.

It is hoped the work will stop the tunnel leaking.

Maintenance work will also take place at Hastings Central Station and track re-alignment will take place at the Bo Peep Curve.

More work is expected in February and March.

Ray Chapman at the East Sussex Rail Alliance reported that record breaking performance levels have been acheived by rail operator South Eastern trains on the Hastings line over the last year.

Record breaking performance levels? Does that include not stopping at Etchingham or Stonegate when timetabled to do so?
