Thieves posing as water board officials stole more than £1,200 in cash from the homes of elderly residents.
The pair tricked their way into the home of a man in his 90s in Cavendish Avenue at 4pm on Friday before taking £400 in cash.
Less than an hour later the men repeated the trick at an address in Hill Road where they took more than £800 in cash from an elderly couple.
The first man is described as white, about 27 years old with a round ruddy face while his partner in crime is described as between 40-45, well built with a northern accent.
