Rebel Syrians to discuss country's future at West Sussex conference
8:14am Wednesday 9th January 2013 in News
Syrian rebel leaders will be at a West Sussex conference this morning (Jan 9).
The two-day event held behind closed doors in Wilton Park is designed to focus minds internationally on planning for political transition in the Middle Eastern country.
Leaders of Syrian National Coalition, which is rebelling against President Bashar Assad, will join officials, experts and academics, including representatives of Arab states and multilateral agencies.
In a Twitter message about the conference, Foreign Secretary William Hague said: "Assad's departure from power is inevitable. Vital that international community plans ahead for the day after in Syria."
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "The UK's objective is to galvanise international thinking and planning on a Syrian-led political transition.
"We're doing everything we can to bring an end to the violence in Syria and achieve a genuine political transition."
Syrian experts and academics are expected to share their thinking on post-conflict stabilisation and to discuss options for the international community to be ready to support a future Syria.
The meeting is intended to support efforts to understand what kind of challenges Syria will face in transition and how the international community can provide support to a future transitional authority to overcome these challenges.
No UK Government ministers are expected to attend the conference and participants are not expected to speak publicly about their discussions.

The Syrian goverment is responsible for the following - :
1) 60,000 + civilians slaughtered.
2) 500,000 + civilian refugees.
3) 1,000,000 + civilian severe injuries.
4) Numerous attrocities. - A bakery bombed with 60+ civilians buying bread killed. A petrol station bombed with 50+ motorists killed. etc etc.
5) Chemical weapons prepared (like Sadat in Iraq) to drop on civilians.

The result is many of the so called democracy rebels are not democratic at all and hold views on woman and gay people and other religions that we in the west find very offensive.
A common problem throughout the middle east even in Dubai.
