TGI's plan is on for Brighton

TGI Friday’s bosses have reaffirmed their plans to open a restaurant in Brighton city centre after they pulled out of a council licensing meeting last week.
The American group postponed plans for a new branch of the chain in the Old Post Office building in Ship Street because it is currently occupied by squatters.
David Carroll, TGI Friday’s UK director of acquisitions and development, said: “We are still planning to bring TGI Friday’s to Brighton, however we are currently delayed with our plans due to a few technicalities.
“The Ship Street site is still of interest to us and we hope to open in the near future – bringing the Friday’s experience to the city.”

In fact, where is 'Brighton city centre'? Last time I looked Brighton was a town, with a town centre? Unless of course Hove has also been promoted to a city and also now has a city centre?
Maybe you mean 'Brighton & Hove city centre', because of course, Brighton & Hove is a city, Brighton is simply a constituent town within the city boundaries, same with Hove, and Portslade etc

Weatherspoons is only one step up from street drinking. Awful chain, just encourages alcoholics and really bad food as well.

Thats good I like TGI's does nice food. Service is a bit lame in the Crawley one, but overall its nice. Brighton is well over due one. As for the moaners, well don't go if you dont like it. So many miserable people moaning how they hate TGI's, jeesh its just a chain restaurant!

The first is the development will flush out another bunch of miscreant benefit grabbing no-marks who are presently trashing the old post office.
The second is that TGI Friday's will renovate/restore the building presently being trashed by the squatting miscreants.
Thirdly, we have yet more choice and the jobs this will create should provide very good news for a number of Brighton residents.
Finally, I fully appreciate that a small number of idiots will wish to undermine the efforts of this company and guess what.......people who really care about our city don't give a t*ss about their views.
