Superstar songbird Adele has been nominated for an Oscar, it has been announced today.

The 24-year-old singer, who recently moved to Millionaires’ Row in Portslade, was shortlisted for the Best Original Song prize for her James Bond theme song, Skyfall.

She is rumoured to be performing the song at the glitzy Hollywood ceremony next month.

The Chasing Pavements singer has not performed live since giving birth to her first child last October.

When her voice suddenly soars, after a slow beginning, and she belts out the word "Skyfall" my stomache 'goes'. I love this song. It hits you hard when it soars over the image of James Bond falling through water, and (not) drowning.

I'd love her to win the Oscar for it.
