Snow set to reach Sussex this evening

Snow set to reach Sussex this evening Snow set to reach Sussex this evening

Snow is expected to start falling in Sussex this evening (Jan 13).

Forecasters are warning that showers of sleet and snow will sweep across the south east tonight, with most people expected to wake to a blanket of white tomorrow morning (Jan 14).

With ice a hazard in the early morning, showers are forecast to continue tomorrow as a second band of rain, sleet and snow reaches Sussex.

Up to 2cm of snow is expected in many areas.

Get those snow shovels out, and supplies in.

2cm in Ashdown Forest = nil in Brighton & Hove.

A dramatic headline.

The coast is forecast to be missing the snow completely, so why the scare story?

Exactly. We'll see, but I expect you are right.

Another argus scare story! Not one snowflake will hit either East or West Sussex. I bet one of your journalist heard that the weather system was moving southeastwards from Scotland. what they failed to point out is that it will never get this far.
Put back your shovels everyone!

All the weather reports (apart from the Argus) says it won't snow in Brighton.
So...... I'm more inclined to follow your line of thought :-)
Time will tell.

I agree, but the Argus is sadly becoming a shabby tabloid, and such stories are a by-product. This is one of their better reports !

Perhaps the editor would like to explain to us humble readers how scaring them is responsible journalism. None of the major weather news providers seems to think any snow is going to fall!!!

I don't expect a response to this comment which is unfortunately indicative of what the Argus has become-poor grammar, bad spelling and generally bad editing that wouldn't pass an OFTSED inspection!!

It is no wonder that local newspapers are going to hell in a handbasket-my local paper The Littlehampton Gazette is no better.

What was once a campaigning paper for Local People is now a paper(which I now believe) produced in Portsmouth with very few journalistic resources. How sad.....

We never had snow until the Greens came into office. We need a local election immediately. Even Mary Mears didn't allow snow and she's a Tory!

This is a bit odd. No other media source nor weather forecaster nor the Meteorological Office were reporting this at 2pm this afternoon. No weather websites, nor climate soothsayers or even Green Party covens casting runes thought it was going to snow here this evening. And guess what - it didn't.

Now before we get into some seriously adverse weather which could affect people badly perhaps we could know what particular insight into forecasting the weather is possessed by the Argus - and some idea if any editorial staff not on work experience are monitoring standards at the weekend.

A dusting of snow on the cars and roofs
in Telscombe Cliffs. Please remember to help your local wildlife who struggle
to find food. Remove plastic netting from fatballs as these can cause injury to garden birds.
