First published in News

A toddler had to be freed by firefighters after locking himself in the bathroom.

Crews from Preston Circus fire station were called to a property in Jevington Drive, Brighton, at about 7pm last night.

A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said the two-year-old had moved the bolt on the door from the inside and was trapped for ten minutes.

He added it took five minutes to free the little boy.

Surely the right thing would have been to ensure that the bolt is not toddler height?

All's well that ends well and move that ruddy bolt!

This happens so easily. We went to Disneyland in Paris and within minutes of arriving in our hotel room my son, aged 17 months, managed to lock himself in the bathroom! We had to wait 40 minutes for someone to come and get him out - not good, lots of tears!
