Lewes' brewing history revealed

A town is going back to its brewing roots this year.
Lewes is celebrating its history of brewing ales in a project by arts organisation Strike A Light.
Planned events include a walking tour, photo collection, archive films, lessons for schoolchildren and an exhibition.
Stuart McLeod, the head of Heritage Lottery Fund South East, which funded the project, said: “Lewes has a rich agricultural and industrial history, an important part of which was the many breweries the town once boasted.”
