Police called to Worthing house find body of man

Neighbours concerned about a friend called police who found his body inside his home.

John Knowles’ death is now being investigated by the West Sussex coroner.

He died on Christmas Eve and was found on the evening of December 29.

Details for his funeral have been released and it will be later this month.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to an address in Clarendon Road, Worthing, following concern by neighbours about a man who had not been seen for several days.

“Entry was forced to the house and the body of John Knowles, 53, was discovered.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and inquiries are continuing by the coroner's officer.

“A post-mortem has been carried out but did not establish a cause of death. The results of further tests are being awaited.”
