Felpham pub loses licence after string of problems Felpham pub loses licence after string of problems

A pub which sold alcohol to children and had punters using drugs has had its licence revoked.

The Old Barn in Felpham was stripped of its licence after a hearing by Arun District Council's licensing committee tomorrow.

The review of the licence was called for by Sussex Police and was held at Arun District Council's Civic Centre.

On Monday, December 24 the Old Barn Pub was temporarily closed until the full hearing today, and will now remain closed.

A number of residents wrote to Arun District Council supporting the police action and also attended the meeting in person, despite the snowy conditions.

At the meeting the residents' spokesperson said: "The difference to our lives is huge in the very short time the pub has been closed. Suddenly it's a nice place to live."

Who writes this stuff?

"punters" - is a slang word but is mainly to do with betting establishments, horses, dogs etc

...and WAS stripped after a meeting TOMORROW - is this inside information or information being obtained clairvoyantly?

Got to love the Argus......
