Two men arrested following BMW hit and run

Two men have been arrested following a hit and run on Friday (January 18).

The 19 and 27-year-old, who are both from East Grinstead, were taken in by police on Sunday (January 20) on suspicion of vehicle offences and going equipped to steal.

On Friday, a dark grey BMW 3 was taken from a home in Imberhorne Lane in the town.

Shortly after, the vehicle smashed into a lamp post before hitting a group of four children.

Three teenage girls, two aged 14 and the other aged 15, and a boy aged 15, were taken to East Surrey Hospital for treatment but later discharged.

The car was found abandoned in nearby Fellwater Court.

The two men arrested have been released on police bail until February 20 while enquiries continue.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
