Hove school closed because of gas leak - but don't blame the French
12:53pm Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News By Anna Roberts, Crime reporter
A Hove secondary school has closed – because of a gas leak.
Cardinal Newman School in The Upper Drive is currently closed but Brighton and Hove City Council said it was nothing to do with the French stink.
Pupils have been sent home and the school’s phone lines are down.

Praise that some teachers let pupils use their mobiles as phone lines were down due to having a switchboard which requires power, but for future problems it would be nice for the school to have a text service they could access on a remote device if power is down.
We had no comms from school and whilst Im sure the school did the best they could, this day and age of tech devices, it would not be difficult to externally send group text.
Also a little more updates on the web site over school snow closures.

"well perhaps they should have a text service.
What about the children without phones or cannot afford them"
