Already cars wheel spinning outside my house in carden hill, down to one lane in parts, could be dangerous when it gets busy. Drive carefully chaps or walk if you're able.

The top of County Oak Avenue is blocked by a van and a car after an accident last night.

Trying to drive home on the Lewes Road last night, proved the complete futility of the councils plan for the road

Spare a thought for those of us up in Westdene! We saw some 27 buses yesterday -for the first time since Friday - but they went again about 3.30pm. If you haven't got a 4x4 up here, you've virtually been stuck since Friday. Our weather isn't the same as down in Brighton, we check what it'll be like in Crawley to get an idea - we live on The Downs!

I was driving home on Lewes Road last night, and it showed me the futility of allowing half of the drivers to have keys! Most of them were pretty clueless about winter driving, and should be confined to buses or trains, and three quarters of the cars just had one occupant, despite all going in the same direction.

they moaning about the buses its delaying them well this is got alot to do with them that the lewes road is a nightmare but i dont think what they doing is going to solve anything to be pretty honest with you if they didnt want cars on the road then why make them crazy goverment always cut backs cut back x

Yes, my sister and bro-in-law live in Westdene and haven't managed to leave their driveway by car since Friday! Their front gets no sun, so no thaw. I'll be round their at the weekend to help clear the snow if they haven't done it by then.

It took nearly 2 hours to come from Burgess Hill last night......A23 was at a stand still and people were travelling an average speed of 2 mph it seemed in centre Brighton. Beaconsfield, London road, Lewes road area slushy but passable.........too

He's completely right. 90% of drivers shouldn't be on the roads in the snow.

A big thank you to everyone who helped push and offer assistance last night on the A27 westbound up near Hollingbury.
Once over the top of the hill, I had complete freedom of the A27 until the A23 junction. Needed it too.

Just heard om Sussex Radio that Traffic Wardens were out this morning booking cars that were stuck in snow from last night. If this is true !

Secondly, I delivered some much needed vittels, Milk and Bread to an Elerly relative up at Lyminster road, Hollingbury. The road was impassible safetly to anyone not in a 4x4 like I was, so which idiot drove a Bus up there and got stuck in Woodbourne Ave, blocking it.
Brighton has a particular problem when the weather is cold and snowy, It is made up of 'very steep hills'.
Please use common sense in future.
