ASBO for drunk and disorderly Seaford woman

ASBO for drunk and disorderly Seaford woman ASBO for drunk and disorderly Seaford woman

A woman has been made the subject of an antisocial behaviour order banning her from drinking in public.

Amy Winter has been convicted on numerous occasions of being drunk and disorderly in Seaford.

Now the 33-year-old has been given the Asbo after she was convicted at Brighton Magistrates’ Court of assaulting a PC in December.

Winter, of no fixed address, was convicted nine times last summer of being drunk in Seaford.

She was abusive to members of the public and was often heard screaming and shouting in the middle of night.

PC Dave Newman said: “Miss Winter’s Asbo is a great result and one we hope that will encourage her to stop offending in this manner.

“The police were called to her former address dozens of times and she has had a huge impact on the community due to her alcohol-fuelled behaviour, not only in Seaford but also at her previous address in Newhaven.

“I hope this reassures the public that we do take anti-social behaviour seriously and will take positive action against offenders such as Miss Winter.”

As part of her conditions Miss Winter is not allowed to drink alcohol in a public place or be drunk in a public place.

I can fully sympathise with those affected but an ASBO does not even begin to deal with the problem let alone solve it.

Agreed John Steed ... that woman has serious issues that need addressing. But it is cheaper in the long run to just put an ASBO in place. Saves all those precious resources from being put to use in helping her address the issues that brought her to this state ...

I blame the police. They clearly don't know how to deal with the problem and just keep making the same mistakes over and over again. This woman has mental health problems, this might provide a clue for them to go on...

Why blame the police. The woman has been let down by many many others before it was left to the police to deal with the issue. They are limited in the way in which they can deal with it and are merely working within the limits we have imposed on them.

I blame the man whose job it is to f art in packets of dry-roasted peanuts before they are sealed...oh, also the police, society and the people of Seaford for their lack of understanding, empathy and beer-money for someone with such complex needs.

She may have been given an asbo, but they are rarely enforced, as we all know. Waste of time and money.

lol these people are clueless if they think an asbo is gonna bother an alcoholic nutjob like her. This is how ridiculous the system is that they dont know how to deal directly with a problem in an effective way. There are so many nasty anti social people on the streets that are not fit for civil company. If they were wild animals theyd be shot. This woman needs locking up before she does serious damage to somebody. Of course, itll be too late when she does.
