Obert Mayo sentenced to ten years in prison for attacking his ex-partner
A man who staged a terrifying attack on his ex-partner while she was working has been given a ten-year jail term.
Obert Moyo turned up at a care home in Hove and threatened his victim with knives.
He dragged her across the floor, leaving her with serious wounds to her face.
Moyo – also known as Obert Ngwenya – was sentenced at Hove Crown Court.
He admitted damaging property, two counts of threats to kill, aggravated burglary and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
His relationship with his 25-year-old ex ended last summer. A month later, on August 24, she was at her cousin’s home when he forced his way in and threatened to kill her.
She called police to say she was worried about his behaviour.
Knives and screwdriver
On August 26, he turned up at the care home where she worked in New Church Road, Hove, at 1am.
He broke in, carrying two knives and a screwdriver, to find her working alone.
While elderly residents slept, he ripped out her hair extensions, then dragged her to the back of the building.
She suffered cuts to her face in the attack.
The woman fled and was found in New Church Road.
Moyo, 34, of no fixed abode, was given an extended licence period – meaning that, following his release, he will liable to be returned to prison for four years after the end of his original ten-year term.

Why was the woman working ALONE in a care home? Legally there are meant to be two people on duty aren't there? I bet the police aren't investigating the care home for that offence?

Disgusting evil man. Far too short a sentence.
