Man, 20, killed in crash near Burgess Hill named as Jay Ansell

A 20-year-old man killed in a road crash has been named locally as Jay Ansell.

Mr Ansell, of Handcross, died after crashing during the early hours of Sunday.

The collision took place on the B2036, near Burgess Hill.

On Facebook people have paid tribute to him, describing him as very loved.

Police said: “The Volkswagen Golf was spotted by another driver shortly after 3.30am, but police believe that the crash may have happened some time before that.”

Sergeant Stewart Goodwin from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said: "The vehicle had cooled down when we arrived, so I believe that it could have left the road some time earlier. We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the car off the B2036 Cuckfield Road at any time before 3.30am.”
