Have to be honest I was very impressed how all the main roads were gritted had no problem driving into london, but about time we saw some resurfacing for our road tax rather than 2 blokes turn up and just randomly splat tarmac in a hole pat down and go home...

Can you tell me why the A23 roadworks closed shop on Dec 20th to Jan 7th?

Why such long holidays when there is rarely snow and ice over that period.

If you didn't give roadworkers such long holidays at Easter (x 2) and this coming Christmas as well you could have the road finished 2 months earlier thus easing the horrible journey for commuters!!

I do not begrudge any worker a holiday, but nearly a month off over Christmas? Ridiculous. Blooming ridiculous.

When a company digs the road up , why is there no "warranty" system in place whereby the company is held to account for not leaving the road in the condition it was before they started digging it up? These companies dig up a perfectly good road and then when it comes to replacing the road surface they plonk some tarmac on the road and seemingly flatten it with a pitchfork, because the surface may just as well be a ploughed field. Why is this allowed? We pay horrendous fees to use the roads and then have to pay to repair them due to the people responsible doing nothing to correcdt them

Why has the A27 roadworks in Lancing over run so badly? Wouldn't having more than a few people working on it at any time speed up the process. The most people I've seen there is 10, and only 2 of those were doing anything!

why spend so much on more and more confusing congestion causing traffic light systems that never work properly when the roads themselves are clearly not fit for purpose? A four and half hour journey from ditchling to brighton last week clearly is dangerous for road users and incompetence on the highways behalf. all policies seem to be for the sole purpose of causing congestion and poillution probably in the name of health and safety. we all know it is not working so try something else, declutter and give back all road users their own responsibility, shared space, roundabouts and zebra crossings.

Why is it still commonplace to see roadworks around the town, normally a lane closed, with no one working on them even though it's a working day?
They seem to be mostly used for storing heavy equipment.
Given this, why do many of the roads in Brighton resemble a patchwork quilt? Why isn't full resurfacing EVER carried out?
Lastly, why isn't major roadwork in the city done at night, as it is on the continent?

Why was worked stopped on the A27 roadworks for two weeks over Christmas. Surely that would be the time that would cause least congestion.

Why were drainage works carried out at all when the A27 around Chichester is subject to horrendous flooding
