Brighton teen sentenced to 15 years for rape

A teenager has been jailed for 15 years after being convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl.

Christopher Hills, 19, of Downland Road, Brighton, was sentenced at Brighton Crown Court for three offences of rape and two offences of sexual assault by penetration on the girl.

Judge Paul Tain described the offences, which occurred between September 1, 2011, and June 21, 2012, in Brighton as “awful and horrendous”.

Detective Constable Paul Hitchcock said: “This was an extremely serious course of conduct against the same young victim.

“Christopher Hills has systematically sexually abused her over a long period of time for his own gratification and shown no remorse.

“The victim has shown great courage throughout the prosecution process and has expressed her |relief at the long sentence as she can now begin to rebuild her life.”

15 years for rape but 6 years for glassing someone, where do they come up with these sentences?

Violence is Violence!...and irrespective of interpretation of harm to the victim, propriety is there not to differentiate but to censor!
Both these people committed violence against other people, both these people were responsible for their actions and both deserve our contempt.

What do people like this bring to society? Really, what?. As far as I can see it's just violence, anger and misery. They're probably a drain on public finance too and quite frankly need to be removed from the planet

Does this mean that anybody who gets more from the government than they pay in should also be removed from the planet?

I think 15 years for rape is about right, sends out the right message to people not to do it.

I think that this 15 years take into account the fact that this young man raped and abused the young woman more then once.

The ongoing intentional terrorising of this young woman as well as the sexual abuse is what he is sentenced for.
