Change in headteachers for two Sussex schools
8:10pm Friday 1st February 2013 in News
Two schools are to have new headteachers.
Stanford Junior School has appointed interim headteacher Gina Hutchins in the permanent post.
Denise Anderson, the chairwoman of governors at the Brighton school, said members of the panel were “very impressed” with her performance over the two-day selection period.
The decision to appoint Mrs Hutchins, who has been acting headteacher since September, was unanimous.
Meanwhile, Mandy Gard is leaving Chyngton School to work with Ofsted.
Jane Branson, the school’s chairwoman of governors, said: “We would like to congratulate Mrs Gard on a truly great appointment, which particularly recognises her skills and experience in school improvement.
“We would also like to thank her for her commitment to Chyngton over the last year – much dedicated work has taken place and we are proud of those achievements.
“We are now getting ready to recruit a new head to start in September 2013 and look forward to building further on the school’s success.”
