10:20am Saturday 2nd February 2013 in News
Free tickets to a crunch derby football match are being offered to locals.
Whitehawk FC will take on Lewes FC at The Enclosed Ground in East Brighton Park, Brighton, today (February 2) at 3pm.
Brighton Kemptown MP Simon Kirby has written to constituents in Whitehawk to offer residents the opportunity to attend the Ryman Premier League match.
Mr Kirby said there will be no cost to the taxpayer.
Residents will need to bring the letter and proof of address with them on the day.
Due to capacity, the offer is only open to Whitehawk residents.

Does the letter state that he is an MP for the Conservative Party?

His constituency office? The letter as I recall did not have the Houses of Parliament emblem on it. I could check the recycling just to make sure if you like.

What is at no cost to the taxpayer is his sponsorship of the upcoming match. He does not claim that the letter/s are at no cost to the taxpayer; regardless of the pocket.
He does however go on at length about his regular constituency surgeries and that he has taken up over 1,000 individual casework issues on behalf of Whitehawk residents.
Being a suspicious cynical cantankerous old bint I expect that the fact that Whitehawk is a large Social Housing Estate within his constituency and that a number of highly unpopular changes are shortly to descend on the government designated benefit scrounging, shirking, malingering hoi poloi ... He's probably trying to show he's a caring guy really. His voting record in the House of Commons shows that he is loyal to the party with only 4 or 5 rebellious votes.

Will any other party be sending out alternatives?
Can I have any unused Fatboy Slim tickets instead?
