Brass rails stolen from Bexhill flats
8:22am Thursday 7th February 2013 in News
Six brass “grab rails” have been stolen from a block of flats.
They were taken from the building in West Parade, Bexhill, sometime between Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday.
Sergeant Stuart Mullins, of Bexhill neighbourhood policing team, said: "I'd like to urge anyone with brass door or wall furniture to keep an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously and report them if a crime is happening or about to happen.
"It seems these rails may have been stolen for their scrap metal value so I'd also like to ask scrap metal dealers to be on the look out and report anyone trying to sell such items."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Susssex Police on 101.

In my comment I asked why it was racist to refer to them by certain names ( I used asterisks ) but that they can call people from outside their community a certain name which is equally racist.

The point I was trying to get over was that racism and racist terminology is not just white on black or against a particular group. It can also be black on white etc. My comment was removed and I received a warning from the Argus. I have taken exception to this. I have opposed racism and when I lived in South Africa during the apartheid era I received threats for doing this.
Since receiving the warning from the Argus I have conducted e-mail correspondence with Sarah Booker. I have received no apology for the inference that I am a racist and have been told that I will not get one. It seems that the stand taken against racism by the Argus and Sarah Booker is probably just targeting old sods like me who cannot keep up with all the PC speak. I told Ms Booker that her contribution to the fight against racism has probably only been to just sign a petition.
I say to the Argus, if you are really concerned about racism, do something constructive about it, not nitpick about how I word a comment. I have fought against racism and received death threats, so the threat in your warning about third party involvement and legal action does not worry me. Annoy me YES !!!

The problem now in South Africa is that one corrupt government seems to have been replaced by another corrupt and inept government. Violent crime is rife and there is extreme poverty. I ask all readers to please support charities that help street children in South Africa and other countries. It is very distressing to see these hungry, homeless and vulnerable kids. Some have been abandoned, others have lost their parents and adult relatives to Aids.
