Brighton and Hove mayor Bill Randall visits the Martlets shop in Woodingdean
A hospice is hoping to give its finances a much-needed boost with a new shop.
Brighton and Hove mayor Bill Randall visited the Martlets store in Woodingdean to carry out the official opening ceremony.
Eve Collins, the retail manager for the Hove-based hospice, said: “We’ve been given an incredibly warm welcome by the community.
“We’re really looking forward to having a permanent shop in Woodingdean.
“This is the Martlets’ eighth charity shop and between them they raise close to £1.5million a year.”
Volunteers are still needed to help out in the shop.
Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to call Helen Rogers on 01273 273400 or email her at volunteering@themartlets hospice.co.uk.
