Protesting students plan long top-floor stay at University of Sussex (From The Argus)

Great work! Glad some people are taking action against the pretend money-saving outsourcing we're seeing so much of these days.

The marketisation of many of the services at the university will just reduce the quality and then give a healthy profit to some shareholders. All for the same cost. Nobody benefits apart from a few people who already have a ton of cash.

Keep up the good work! Although do expect 50 comments below this one disagreeing with your stance by people who don't really understand that "free markets" are ruining the quality of their lives too. Expect words like 'Tarquin', 'iPad', "upper-class", "silver spoon", "lazy", "scruffy", "put the bins out on the wrong day" etc.. Make sure you find them funny.

Sebastian and Jemima are having an absolute hoot pretending to be radical and alternative; Jemima is using her iPad (the one Daddy bought her) to send Tweets to all her chums at Pony Club telling them how she is is a now a protestor (about something or other; Jemima is not sure what she is supposed to be protesting about, but she thinks its jolly fun!)

Ohh you stole all my words of abuse...I really am bored now. efore i go to practice my spelling so i can work for the argus instead of moaning about them...I didn't feel the students were exactly burning alive with passion and rage..I nearly fell asleep :)

Awww give em a break..they are all having to be really, really radical and wear yellow post-it notes in protest.. I watched it again to check...ooops sorry I'm supposed to be gone already :)

So what happens to project had-ins, exams, study etc? Are these students prepared to fail their courses? Or would they then call foul? Isnt this unfair on students who are handing in on time and making an effort?

I wish the ones who live next door to me would join in, they can stay for ever - PLEASE!

If you have problems with students, do what I did;

1) if they rent from a Lettings agency, complain to them.

2) if they rent directly from a landlord, go onto the Land Registry website, input the address of the students house, pay £4 via debit card and it will give you the name and address of the owner of the house; complain directly to them.

Thanks Borninbrighton. problem is I am looking to move elsewhere in Brighton this year and if there's a dispute with neighbours that has to be declared. so for now I'm treating them to heavy music when I go to work if they've been noisy the night before. Childish tit for tat I know but hey ho!

I've had to do that before and it did eventually get the message across. It seems that politely asking them to turn the music down just want getting through to them!
