Broken down taxi delays Albion traffic

A broken down taxi has left traffic queuing in Falmer, Brighton.

Football fans heading to the Albion match against Blackburn are advised to avoid the A270 Lewes Road, eastbound.

One lane has been blocked since about 5.45pm at the junction to the A27 and traffic is queuing.

It isnt news at all. I like the bit about Albion fans avoiding the A270 Lewes Road. How else do they get there if they locally!

Shame there is no longer a second lane available for traffic to pass the broken down vehicle...

Isn't this exactly what the council have done along most of the rest of the Lewes road anyway?

And in other news, a bird flew in the sky. Yes, it really is that interesting a story.

Is it not possible for one or two strong men to simply push a car out of the way these days? Surely this obstruction could have been cleared long before becoming newsworthy.

I suspect that the story was to pre warn football traffic of extra delays in getting to the game.

Kind of like a public service announcement, but it seems it was wasted on the people who commented. Maybe people actually going that way changed their route if possible or left earlier.

It's useful info as this road is now a disaster during football games as it's down to one lane and it only takes a breakdown or accident to have a knock on effect on all the surrounding roads.
