Teenager stabbed in "targeted" Eastbourne attack

A teenager was stabbed during a “targeted” attack in a town centre.
The 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Eastbourne on Thursday afternoon at around 5.10pm.
When police arrived they arrested a 17-year-old local boy who has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is due to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates' Court this morning (Friday February 15).
The 17-year-old victim was taken to hospital suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Detective Inspector Gavin Patch of Eastbourne CID said: "We are appealing for anyone who was in Warrior Square and witnessed this incident to get in contact with police.
"We believe this was a targeted attack and no one else was at risk."
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1175 of 14/2 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
