Littlehampton lifeboat crew to the rescue of stranded party balloons

Lifeboat crew went to the rescue of a sail boarder only to find a big bunch of part balloons.

Littlehampton RNLI crew launched at just after 12.10pm this afternoon after reports of a sail boarder in difficulty off the coast between East Preston and Kingston Gorse.

However, when they reached the destination they discovered that the sail boarder was in fact a large bunch of party balloons.

Coastguard staff said the call was a false alarm with good intentions.

were they blue by any chance as a large bunch were drifting southwest at approx 500 ft this morning, came from broadwater direction
