Dancers at the Palace Pier taking part in the One Billion Rising flash mob
Dozens of women put on their dancing shoes in the centre of Brighton to protest against violence towards females.
About 70 volunteers took part in a choreographed dance flashmob outside the Palace Pier and Churchill Square Shopping Centre on Saturday afternoon (February 16) as part of a global campaign.
Passers-by were shocked by the apparent burst of spontaneous dancing to Tina Turner by the group of women.
But in fact, their moves had been carefully choreographed for two hours earlier for the flashmob.
The protest was inspired by the global campaign which states that one in three women around the world will be raped or beaten in their lifetime.

Perhaps these women need to speak out about the Islam, for example, advocating wife-beating as acceptable - as noted in their holy book that is not open to interpretation.
Making such a protest would show solidarity with women who live in countries where wife-beating is pretty much a national hobby. Perhaps the Muslim council of Great Britain would condemn the Quran and not advocate wife-beating (beatings may take place after the wife has been informed why she is to receive the beating)?
Taking such a stance would be truly commendable...rather than taking their line-dancing meet ups 'to the next level'.

Dont be fooled - the term "feminism" nowadays has just become a front for rather selfish, troubled people who only care about themselves. Even (worldwide renowned) genuine feminist groups see this type of attitude as selfish and disgusting. Unfortunately we get a LOT of the 'fake' me, me, me kind here in Brighton!
As for the person mentioning punching and stuff, there is an important point to be made there.
In the hysterical screams for "equality" by the aforementioned people, they show themselves for the hypocrites they are by expecting to be able to scream, yell into a mans face, insult and belittle him in public (seen this SOO many times in Brighton) then suddenly equality goes out the window and they revert to little children, surprised when there are CONSEQUENCES to their actions!
Any man knows such behaviour is unacceptable. Do it to another, and you would expect the risk of attack. But no, these strong feminists who demand equality suddenly become delicate, little victims!
Even the law recognises that provocation must be taken into account in trial - ie, if you do it, its partly your own fault.
While in an ideal world violence is wrong, we dont LIVE in an ideal world. Too many of these 'feminists' are spoilt little rich kids who have never had to deal with reality.
And CAN'T deal with reality, so boo hoo at the first sign of real life. We should NOT listen to them until they have 'grown up'. There are many, many women saying exactly the same thing too.
