Water skiing on calm waters off Brighton beach at the weekend
Lazing on the beach, enjoying some watersports, or simply watching the flowers bloom – February or not, Sussex is full of the joys of spring.
The sun smiled on the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday, and on Saturday jet skiers and water skiers made the most of the calm weather to get on the water.
But be warned – the sunshine will not last for long.
The Met Office is warning people in the north of the county that they may wake up to dense and freezing fog today.
And temperatures are expected to plunge to a chilly 2C on Thursday, February 21 and Friday, February 22.
If it doesn’t snow, people can always visit Nymans Gardens at Handcross, where snowdrops are covering the earth with a sheet of white. Until then, though, families enjoying half-term holidays are making the most of the brief spell of bright weather.
Staff at Castor and Pollux art gallery in Kings Road Arches, Brighton, said they continued to be busy yesterday.
Gallery assistant Michelle Chilton said: “Lots of people are on the beach, and the last three days we’ve had beautiful sunsets.”
