Brighton Theatre Group Youth's production of Miss Saigon
Brighton youngsters’ performance of Miss Saigon has wowed Olympic gold medallist and Dancing on Ice head judge Robin Cousins.
He asked to go backstage to congratulate the actors and actresses from the Brighton Theatre Group Youth.
He then tweeted: “Congrats to BTG Youth for a well-deserved standing ovation for their final performance of Miss Saigon.
“Great talent on show. Sir Cameron would be proud.”
The youngsters were also congratulated by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, who was in the audience on the opening night with his wife Margaret and Brian Capron, who played Richard Hillman in Coronation Street.
Keith Shepherd, the company chairman and producer, said: “Our youngsters put their hearts and souls into this show and revealed some truly magnificent performances.
“We go from strength to strength each year and are now working on our next production Les Miserables, to be performed later this year.”
Anyone aged 19 or under and interested in auditioning to join Brighton Theatre Group Youth can ring Mr Shepherd on 07980 266660 or email chairman@brightontg.com.
